The Bank of Russia published a report Regulation of Financial Influencers in February 2026. The Bank of Russia's Expert Council instructed the National Financial Association (NFA) to hold consultations with the influencer community on acceptable methods of regulating the industry in March 2026. The communications agency Poleznye Svyazy was responsible for selecting and inviting leading financial bloggers to lead discussions under the current contract with the Association. Evgeny Kogan (bitkogan), Jan Art (finversiaru), Timofey Martynov (Smart Lab, martynovtim), Ekaterina Belkina (svinfin), Renat Valeev (headlines_for_traders), Kira Yukhtenko (InvestFuture_KIra_Y), the Market Power channel team (marketpowercomics) and others were among them.
The meeting participants unanimously opposed strict legislative regulation of the industry in favor of creating a self-regulating professional community. This community will develop its own Code of Ethics and Regulations on Disciplinary Actions for Authors Who Violate These Rules and, possibly, Methodological Guidelines for Aspiring Authors on Creating Relevant Financial Content. The National Financial Association with the support of the Agency will hold a second public discussion of the community's initiatives at the Moscow Exchange in May.
